Bobby Hodges

Weight had always been a struggle for 31-year-old Norfolk, Va., resident, Bobby Hodges. At the young age of 30, Hodges weighed a shocking 420 pounds. However, that all changed after he welcomed his new son into the world last year. Hodges knew he needed to make some serious life changes to ensure that he was around to see his son grow and mature.

“Having a son made me think about my health, and whether or not I’d be around for him or even have enough energy to be actively involved as he grew up,” said Hodges.

After joining his local gym, Hodges searched for a piece of equipment that would be easy for him to use, but effective at the same time. He came across the Life Fitness elliptical cross-trainer, and in only a year’s time dropped 100 pounds.

As a result of his achievement, Hodges was recognized by Life Fitness as one of the finalists in the company’s annual “I Live It!” campaign. This program celebrates individuals who demonstrate a commitment to lifelong health and well-being.

“Bobby’s motivation for making the commitment to lifelong fitness is one that many people can relate to,” said John Stransky, president of Life Fitness. “We hope that Bobby’s story inspires others to take that first step towards a healthier life so that they can be around to see their grandchildren.”

Hodges continues to workout everyday and is determined to drop at least an additional 100 pounds.
